ATS Resume Checker

Compare your CV with any job description. Get a match score, see which keywords you are missing, and fix common formatting problems β€” in seconds.

Your text is analysed in your browser and is never uploaded.

What is an ATS, and why does a keyword match matter?

An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software employers use to collect and search job applications. Recruiters often search their ATS for specific skills, tools and job titles. If those words are missing from your CV, you may not appear in their results β€” even if you are well qualified.

This checker highlights the most important terms in a job advert and shows which ones your CV already contains. It also runs quick checks for the formatting and writing habits recruiters look for. Read our full ATS-friendly CV guide to learn more.

How to use your results

  1. Review the missing keywords. Ignore any that are generic or do not apply to you.
  2. Add genuine matches in context β€” inside your profile and achievement bullets, not just a list.
  3. Use the job title from the advert near the top of your CV if it honestly describes you.
  4. Fix the CV checks marked in red or amber, such as missing headings or too few measurable results.
  5. Re-run the check and repeat for each job you apply to.

Frequently asked questions

Is this ATS checker free?

Yes. It is completely free, has no usage limit and does not require an account.

Is my CV uploaded or stored?

No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser. Your CV and the job description never leave your device.

How is the match score calculated?

About 70% of the score comes from how many important terms from the job description appear in your CV. The remaining 30% comes from basic checks such as contact details, standard headings, measurable results and action verbs.

Does a high score guarantee an interview?

No. Every employer and ATS works differently, and a human still reviews your CV. Use the score as a guide to tailor your CV, and only add keywords that honestly describe your experience.

What score should I aim for?

Aim to include every genuine requirement you meet. In practice, a score of around 70% or higher usually means your CV is well tailored to the advert.
